Supply Switch
Computer turns on for half second when you press power supply switch.?
After that, I hit the front switch, it turns on for half second, then turns off, then turns on for half second again, over and over. Just replaced motherboard. Please help.
You fried your processor chip, this is not rare because a lot of people encounter this problem, (this is your problem when you push the power button the computer turns on for 1 sec then turns off) The cause of this is the motherboard came in contact with your tower and being that your power supply sends a lot of frequency through the frame it causes the motherboard to heat up which sends all the current to your processor. If the green light on your motherboard turns on for 1 sec and shuts-off, apparently your motherboard is fine, its your processor. Don’t waste your time taking your computer appart you can easily replace your processor depending on what you need. Pentium 4, AMD X2, Duo-Core, Pentuim D like those for example.
