Is a cutters cuts like an addicts track marks?
If a cutter showed you their cuts, would you compare it to an addict showing you their track (needle) marks?
What would you think if someone wanted to show you?
Yes, I would think it’s exactly the same. Both are physical marks of ones addiction, and marks that one is usually ashamed of.
I personally tell them I’d rather not see, because the sight of other people’s cuts is a big trigger for me. I’ve never shown anyone mine, even when one friend asked to see. It’s not something I’m proud of…it’s something I’m ashamed of and want to stop.
