Steel Union
I’m in a steel union in Minnesota. What are the consequences of going on strike? Can I lose my job?
My place of employment has sub-contracting, and the workers (outside of the union) are making $12.00 dollars a hour more than us, and they have $6.00 a hour going into their pension. ( we get $ .90 a hour ). With that in mind, we feel that we deserve a pay increase, we are willing to strike for $4.00 a hour over the next three years, along with some time off ( we work 12 hours a day, 19 days straight, and 2 days off. ) Needless to say, there are not allot of people willing to do this. Everyone who is willing to go on strike is concerned about loosing their jobs (me too!!) If anyone can give some good information and what to expect, along with worst case scenario, I would appreciate it! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
If none of the people being oppressed do anything about their oppression, then they’ll slowly lose what freedoms they currently have and become ever more oppressed.
If most of the people being oppressed support the oppressors, and only some of the people fight back, then the rebels will probably be crushed. However, they may inspire other people to join them.
If all the people being oppressed fight back, then they will free themselves, especially if they outnumber the oppressors. The consequences of that are much better =]
