How advanced timing should i be ?
I have 1974 el camino a chevy small block 350 with World S/R torquer cylinder heads, edelbrock 600 cfm carb. and performer manifold long tube ceramic headers and a XE262 comp cam extreme energy camshaft and GM hei distributer and how many degrees of advanced timing should i be running ?
Your total timing advance should be about 34 degrees.This is initial timing,vacuum advance and mechanical advance.And you should have full advance by 3500 rpm.You can’t see this on your stock timing marks-you need a degreed dampener or buy stick on timing markings.Or you can advance your distributor until lit pings and back it off 2 degrees and you will be close.
